Hugo Carl Feuerbacher was born in Carlin, Germany on March 12, 1882. At age 4 he, his mother, 5 brothers and sister came from Germany to meet their father, who had preceded them by 3 years. Hugo was reared in Austin, Texas and later moved to Dripping Springs and Oak Hilll for 2 years. At age 14 he and his family moved to a farm on Dry Creek, near Del Valle, southeast of Austin. Hugo chose to take up the trade of his father and was trained by his father to be a carpenter and a builder. Also he was the last son to take of the trade.

In 1904 he and his brother-in-law, Frank Mobley, bought a black land farm jointly from Mr. Campbell near Campbellton, Texas (south of San Antonio). The black land, due to no rain, was non-productive, so to help pay for his half of the land, Hugo built a large home for Mr. Campbell near Campbellton. Here working on the home of the Campbell's, Hugo met his future bride, Mary Francis (Molly) McYancy. Molly was born in Alpine, Texas on June 8, 1890 and lived there until May 10, 1903 when she entered St. Joseph's Orphanage in San Antonio, Texas. From the orphanage she went to work in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Campbell. Hugo and Molly were married December 29, 1906 in Campbellton and lived there until work played out. In 1907 they moved to Corpus Christi where work was also scarce. In 1908 they moved to San Antonio and made it their permanent home. On December 10, 1921 Aunt Molly died in San Antonio. Hugo continued living in San Antonio except for 2 years around 1927 when he worked a small truck farm in Lytle, Texas. After that he moved back to San Antonio and continued being a carpenter until he retired. Uncle Hugo died on December 20, 1963. To Uncle Hugo and Aunt Molly 2 children were born.
