- Alwin Feuerbacher Kaye's great grandfather, Frederich Kaspar Alwin Feuerbacher, immigrated from Saxony (Germany) to Austin, Texas in 1883 leaving his wife and 7 children behind.
- Emma Hernsdorf Kaye's great grandmother. Immigrated to Austin Texas in 1886 after her husband Alwin Feuerbacher saved enough money to pay the fare for her and their 7 children.
- Jacob Sternberg Kaye's great great grandfather, Ludwig Jacob Sternberg, immigrated to Texas from northern Germany in 1851 along with his wife Sophia Borgwardt and their 6 children, including my great grandfather Christian Sternberg, 4 years old.
- Martin Edward Duesterhoeft Kaye's great great grandfather immigrated to Texas thru Galveston alone in 1852. His wife and oldest two sons must have come about a year later. My great grandmother, Maria Carolina Duesterhoeft was the first child born in America in 1854.
- John Carter Kaye's great great grandfather, immigrated from England in the mid 1800s settleing in Texas. No record of his immigration has been found.
