Rosa Feuerbacher was born on August 30, 1892 in Austin, Texas. When she was very young her parents and family moved first to Dripping Springs and 1 year later to Oak Hill. From here they moved to Dry Creek, east of Del Valle on a farm on which she lived until she married Andy Lynch Sanders, December 5, 1911. Lynch was born September 6, 1874 in Virginia. Rosa and Lynch started their married life running a small store at Moores Crossing just a few yards from the school that she attended until she quit school. In 1915, they bought a 250 acre farm at Del Valle, Texas. Around 10 years after they were married they bought a small grocery store at Colton. They lived at the store until they bought the "old home place" from Mr. Wolfe that before was owned by her brother Willie. Uncle Lynch became ill and was sick for five years and passed away in Colton on December 29, 1939 from a stroke.
In 1942 the Army bought Rosa's 250 acre farm to build Bergstrom Air Force Base. She reinvested in a farm at Creedmoor, Texas. In 1946 she decided to move into town and she asked her brother Willie if he wanted to buy the "old home place" back, which he did.
Aunt Rosa moved to town and has lived in her present home ever since. She likes to work in her garden where she raises all kinds of flowers. Also she has several hobbies such as collecting stamps (as her father did, also), collecting cups and saucers and old & unusual bottles. One bottle I hope she treasures, and I'm sure she does, is a small unusual bottle I found in a field in Germany. When I found it I immediately thought of Aunt Rosa. To this family were born 2 children.
