This Francis Alexander, long thought to be one of the 7 brothers and 2 sisters who settled in Colonial America, has not been proven to be part of the so-called 7+2 Alexanders who migrated to Somerset County MD in the mid 1600s from Ireland. As of March 2012, the proven connections via DNA results closely connect Andrew, Samuel, James 'Weaver' and Joseph 'Tanner'. Additiional descendants of William m Liston need to be tested to figure out his situation. John Alexander and Francis Alexander have not had descendants tested so they cannot be confirmed to be closely related to the 4 confirmed brothers.
