So he must have died between 1876 and 1879.4

Wilhelm Heinrich Duesterhoeft was born on 11 July 1833 in Janowiec, Posen, Prussia,1 and was baptised on 12 July 1833 in Posen.1 His estate was probated in Washington County, Texas. Contained in the 1896 probate files of Martin Edward Duesterhoeft there are papers concerning the estate of Martin's 1/2 brother William Duesterhoeft. William's heirs are names as Anna Duesterhoeft, unmarried; Emilie Pfefferkorn, wife of August; 1/2 brother Martin Edward; his 1/2 brother Charles's (deceased) children, Fritz, 18 years old and Anna, 13 years old. Also in Martin's probate file were papers dated 24 June 1886 concerning the petition to the court to declare William a lunatic. They say he lived with his 1/2 brother's family, Martin Edward Duesterhoeft, and was violent, having attacked the family with an axe. They lived near Burton. A doctor's statement confirmed that "he has always been considered by the community to be of unsound mind and he comes from a family predisposed to insanity."3 Wilhelm Heinrich died on 9 July 1887 in Burton, Washington County, Texas, at age 53.4,5 He was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery in Washington County.6
