Knowing Shad was a blessing. He was a very special person blessed by God with so many wonderful gifts, and the best of all was the gift of the generous spirit he always shared. His Smiles, Laughter and Love brought the heart of God to everyone he met and the world is a better place because of him.
The most important things in Shad's life were God, his Children, grandchildren and his family. He had so many friends that touched his life & he treated them like his family.
James Bodie "Shad" was born in Dallas, Texas and raised in Irving, TX. Shad served in the Army for 15 months in Vietnam & was honorably discharged in 1971.
Later in his adult life he moved to Mesquite Texas where he touched so many children's lives by coaching them in Football & Baseball. Shad Coached for 25+ years.
Shad loved to FISH... (How do you think he got his name)? He loved to Golf with his brothers Terry and David, his friend Carl (his children's step father) and kids David, Hailey & son-in-law Brandon. He had a few annual trips that he would plan. Camping every year in Dec. with his Children, grandchildren & friends and his fishing trip to the coast with Brother David & friends from Waco. Shad loved to build things from what ever he could find. He was a remarkable carpenter. He also loved to help his friends out with their projects, like Marty & Johnny. Everyday at lunch he & his buddies at work would gather and play dominos. Any of Shad's friends could call at any time if they needed something fixed & he would be there.
Over the last 8 years Shad has developed a very special friendship with the couple that he rented from. The Baker?s touched Shad's life more than they will ever know & the bond that they shared was like no other.
Shad and his children's mother Debbie became the best of friends over the last 12 years and shared so many holidays, birthdays, cookouts and wonderful memories together with their children and grandchildren. Everyone always said that you could never find anyone else that would or could have that type of relationship & bond.
