Her death certificate was filled out with a birth date of May 1835, but the info given on all of her census entries (1850, 1880, 1900) have her born in 1840 with the month given in the 1900 census.2,3,4 She and (---?---) Roach (1st husband of Behethalin Middleton) married.5 Behethelin J. Middleton and John D Gorman married on 18 November 1875 in Travis County, Texas.5 Behethelin J. died on 9 April 1919 in Austin, Travis County, Texas, at age 79.6,7 and was buried in Oakwood Cemetery (Annex), in Austin, Travis County, Texas. There is no headstone.6

Probably, as first child was born in there.8 Julia Ann M. Middleton and Fritz King married on 4 June 1877 in Lee County, Texas.9 Julia Ann M. died on 12 April 1923 in Austin, Travis County, Texas, at age 78.7 and was buried at unmarked grave: section C, lot 16, space 8 (Oakwood Cemetery) in Austin, Travis County.7,10

     We do not know the date of Lydia Middleton's death, and until Behethlin Middleton's death certificate was located, we did not know Lydia's maiden name. Hettie Middleton Gorman's death certificate names Wm H Middleton and 'Lyddie Dott'. No other proof has been found of her name, but this is the first hint we have gotten.

There are several people found in the 1900, 1910 and 1920 censuses who may or may not be this George Middleton.
1. 1900--George Middleton and wife Malindra are found in the 1900 Williamson County census with three children: Maud b 1885, Koy b 1889 and George b 1892. They had been married 15 years (1885). This is the correct George Middleton as the oldest son, Koy, signed his death certificate as well as Julia Middleton King's. She was the sister of our George Middleton.
2. 1910-- George Middleton and wife Lilly. George was 58 b 1852 and Lilly was either 38 or 58. They had been married for 14 years (m. 1896) which means this is NOT the same George as shown in the 1900 Wmson Co census shown above. The enumerator leaves blank the number of children column but does fill in the # of children column for other families leading me to believe they had no children.
3. 1920--George Middleton b 1852 with wife Alice and granddaughter Inez Schulenburg. Birth records say that Inez Schulenburg and Raymond Samuel Kaufman had a child, Aubrey Eugene Kaufman, in 1940. Could this be the same George as the one from the 1900 census? Yes, for the following reasons: The 1918 Austin city directory shows George Middleton with wife Alice L living at 1907 Holley, and Coy Middleton with wife Estelle living at 1906 Holley, I am convinced that this is our George Middleton with a 2nd wife, Alice since the 1920 cesus mentioned above show the same address for George and Alice.
4. 1920--George R. Middleton b 1892 with wife Beulah b 1891, son Eugene b 1917 (in Nebraska) and Beulah's father Joseph F Faubion. Could this be the son George as listed on the 1900 census? Needs more research.
5. George Middleton b May 5 1852 per his 1921 DC, he is married, and informant is Coy Middleton. This is certainly the same George who was listed in the 1900 Williamson County census. Coy also signed the death certificate of Julia Middleton Garlamd Keng, sister of George Middleton. (See #1)
6. Coy Middleton's death certificate lists his parents as George and Malinda Middleton.11
