After her marriage on 6 June 1885, she was normally known as Cyntha McCoy. After her marriage on 27 June 1904, she was normally known as Cyntha Pruitt. After her marriage she was normally known as Cyntha Prewitt.5 Cyntha Prewitt is listed in the 1910 Travis County census next door to Tom's brothers. Her McCoy children are listed as Pruitts. Cyntha was in Gonzales County, Texas in the 1900 census and was previously married to Marion McCoy on June 6, 1885 in Gonzales County.5

Hugh Teares Middleton Jr.'s birthdate is unknown. Based on HTM, Sr and Lucy Williams marriage no later than 1776 when a deed mentioned HTM and wife, Lucy. Need to get copy of deed or abstract from Candy. He and Mildred Martin married in 1802. This date is based on known birth of their son William H Middleton during the summer of 1803.2 Hugh Teares died in July 1803 died in the Summer in Edgefield County, South Carolina.3

He was in 1740 in Charles County, Maryland.2 He and Sarah (---?---) Middleton married.3 Major Hugh Teares Middleton Sr. and Martha Haynie married in 1760.4 Major Hugh Teares Middleton Sr. and Lucy Williams married before 1776. Date taken from deed naming Hugh Tears Middleton and wife, Lucy. Get copy of deed or abstract from Candy.5 Major Hugh Teares Middleton Sr. and Agatha Garrett married.6 Hugh Teares died on 30 November 1803 at his home "Locust Dale" in Edgefield County, South Carolina.7

Major Hugh Teares Middleton Sr. served in the military on 17 June 1775 in South Carolina 1st Lieutenant 3rd South Carolina, 17th June, 1775; Captain, November, 1775- _____; Lieutenant Colonel South Carolina Militia; wounded at Eutaw Springs 8th September, 1781.8 He served in the military on 29 June 1785 US military payment issued to Hugh Middleton for seventy three pound, eithteen shillings and six pence 3/4 for Militia Duty as Major in 1780 and 1781. per audited accounty.9 On 1 Dec 1787 Lucy and Hugh Middleton witnessed the will of William Harvey in Edgefield District, South Carolina. Hugh made an oath to prove the will on 15 Oct 1788.10 He appeared on the 1790 Federal Census of Edgefield District, South Carolina.11
